This Weeks Word

1 Thessalonians 4:1…
Now that Paul has received the great news of the healthy spiritual condition of the church he planted at Thessalonica, he continues his encouragement of their readiness in preparation for one of the chief doctrines he taught this church while he was with them: The pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church.
In a sense, Paul is asking: What will you be found doing when Christ returns for His Bride?
He reminds them of the commandments he gave them through the Lord Jesus while he was there. We may think sexual immorality is a modern issue – and it is – but Paul reminds us here there is nothing new under the sun.
What is acceptable in the culture outside the church is not acceptable to God. Rather than classifying the type of sexual sin a person may be engaged in, Paul writes to them of a higher standard: purity. This brings in the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the Law of the Holy Spirit to apply the exact conviction necessary in each specific situation.
It is interesting he speaks of taking advantage of one another as a manifestation of lust –  and it is.
Of course brotherly love, in its truest sense prevents this. And it truly prepares the heart for the kind of purity Jesus is seeking as He returns for His Bride – which he reminds us can happen at any moment.
There is not a single Biblical prophecy remaining to be fulfilled prior to the next event on the prophetic calendar, which is the pre-tribulation Rapture of the Church.
Jesus is coming, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, that His Church, (His Bride,) may be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, along with all the saints who have preceded us in death.
What a day that will be!
The timing of this event is completely unknown, (even to the Son.) Jesus Himself said no one knows the day or the hour of this event, not even the angels of heaven. Only the Father knows. Rest assured by viewing the types of events going on around us we can know the season. And presently, in our day, more of the signs of the season of The pre-tribulation Rapture of The Church are present and visible than at any other time in human history.
Jesus is at the door. He is ready. This expectation is provided specifically by God to bring comfort to our lives in these terrible days. (Especially since we read in scripture the days to follow these terrible days will be the worst in the history of the world.)
Only Jesus can spare us from this, and He will.
